Kid’s Game Their Way to a Nutritious Diet
MeYou Health just launched a free iPhone app that’s helping kids get their daily recommended intake of fruits and vegetables by transforming the daily challenge into a fun—and educational—game.
The app, called Munch 5-a-Day, tracks your daily intake of fruits and vegetables, helps you set goals, and creates graphs to monitor progress. The app is easy for kids to use, too. All they have to do is tap on a vegetable or fruit after eating one and earn silly badges like the Talking Tomato for munching their way to a nutritious diet.
In addition, the app has helpful information on serving sizes and allows for one glass of juice as a serving of fruit. After that, juice no longer counts toward a user’s goal.
