National Honey Board Bee Garden Invitation
Bee Garden Tour
May 16th, 2023 | 2:30PM - 5:30PM

You are invited to register for an exclusive opportunity to attend an intimate Bee Garden Tour hosted by the National Honey Board.

Participants will be picked up from the hotel in an open-air trolley and taken to the Savannah Bee Company. The tour will begin in the showroom with an observation beehive. This unique type of hive is housed indoors and is encased in glass, allowing you to see all the amazing activities happening within the hive. One of Savannah Bee Company’s educators will give you a little history about the honey company and teach you all about honeybees, beekeeping, and the impact bees have on our everyday lives and the environment.

After the observation beehive, your guide will lead you outside to the bee garden to get up close and personal with a working beehive. You’ll learn about the behaviors and habits of honeybees and the important hive ingredients utilized in their beauty products -- honey, beeswax, propolis, and royal jelly. Don't worry, you’ll be provided with a beekeeper's hat and veil. Honeybees are generally very gentle creatures who mind their own beeswax, but we do want you to feel safe.

Next, we’ll head back inside for a guided honey tasting during which you can sample and learn about all the different varieties of honey you can find. Lastly, we’ll explore a six-flight mead tasting with a honeycomb platter featuring local cheeses and fruit.

When the Bee Garden Tour is complete, the trolley will take you back to the hotel in time to enjoy the evening in Savannah.
