Do you want to improve your work with the media or are you just starting to work with the media? Have you been contacted by the media for comment and didn’t know what to do or want more guidance on how to respond? Join fellow dietitian, media expert, and Wall Street Journal best-selling cookbook author, Toby Amidor, for a 2-hour workshop to learn the art and science of building relationships with the media. Understand how to educate the consumer with nutrition facts that combat fiction and fads. Toby will share her experience on how to get started working with the media and will explain trusted techniques and best practices that control the message and the interview — from creating sound bites and quotes that make the story interesting, to helping navigate questions and responses on controversial nutrition topics. Attendees will come together over a selection of appetizers, and group activities and individual feedback will be provided to each participant by Toby. Pre- and post-work will be a part of the workshop and must be completed in its entirety in a timely fashion. Participants will receive 2 CEUs for workshop attendance and the opportunity to earn an additional 12 CEUs upon completion of the RD Career Jumpstart Leadership & Communication Workshop (virtual), to which workshop attendees will receive complimentary post-Symposium access.
