Complimentary Live Webinar | Low Carb

The last decade has seen an increasing amount of published research that examines the efficacy and safety of lower carbohydrate diets. While lower carbohydrate diets are traditionally associated with weight loss, much of the recent research focuses on the alternative benefits of this dietary approach. In fact, recent studies have suggested that reducing dietary carbohydrates can benefit conditions that are related to metabolism, including metabolic syndrome and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, from 2-3 p.m. ET, join Jonathan Clinthorne, PhD, and Kristin Kirkpatrick, MS, RD, as they review these recent studies and discuss the basic biology that underlies how well-formulated lower carbohydrate diets may benefit different patient populations. They will also discuss evidence gaps and how to translate observations from scientific literature into helpful advice for patients who may benefit from a lower carbohydrate diet.

Learning Objectives
1. Describe the variety of approaches that constitute lower carbohydrate diets.
2. Discuss the evidence supporting the efficacy and safety of lower carbohydrate diets for specific populations.
3. Educate and counsel patients on the practical aspects of implementing a carbohydrate restricted approach.
